Présentation

Lorenza Fontana est chercheuse associée au Sheffield Institute for International Development (SIID) de l’Université de Sheffield. Ses intérêts de recherche portent sur l’étude des conflits et de nouveaux modèles de citoyenneté et gouvernance en Amérique Latine. En particulier, elle explore la relation entre les changements normatifs et institutionnels et les processus d’organisation et de construction identitaire au sein des mouvements sociaux. Sur le plan théorique, elle mène un travail très pluridisciplinaire incluant les théories sociologiques de l’action collective, l’analyse des politiques publiques, les études sur le développement et la philosophie politique. Au cours des dernières années, elle a également collaboré au sein de différents projets de recherche internationaux, notamment sur les conflits sociaux et la gouvernance (PNUD) et sur les démocraties latino-américaines (IDEA/IPSA) et a travaillé dans différentes instances pour des organisations internationales comme les Nations Unies, la Fondation Carter et l’Institut international pour la démocratie et l’assistance sociale.

  • Thèse soutenue le 11/06/2012 à la Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies de Pise (Italie) : Social conflits, collective narratives and identity-building : lessons from Bolivia (Conflits sociaux, récits collectifs et construction d’identités : Leçons tirées du cas de la Bolivie), sous la direction de Prof. Stefan Collignon et Prof. Fernando Calderón.
